HeadTrack works with the FlightGear game. Here you can find how to set this up.

Set up HeadTrack

Input

First make sure the input is working. You can use any of the available inputs. If you can see a working preview, continue with the next step.

FlightGear game output

You can use a third party FlightGear add-on created by Colin Geniet to connect HeadTrack.

  1. Open HeadTrack.
  2. Set game output to FlightGear.

Set up FlightGear

Now that HeadTrack is configured properly, see below how to configure your game.

  1. Open FlightGear
  2. Download the add-on and extract the zip file.

  3. Go to "Settings", "Additional Settings", and remove any settings related to head tracking.
  4. Go to "Add-ons", and remove any existing head tracker add-ons.
  5. Click the "Add" button next to "Add-on Module folders".
  6. Select the earlier extracted zip file.
  7. Now you can start using HeadTrack with FlightGear.
  8. In the top menu there are some options for the Headtracker add-on. Make sure to select Opentrack as Software, localhost as Host, and 5542 as Port.
  9. Head tracking should now work in FlightGear. If not, please let us know.

Tweak HeadTrack settings

To improve head tracking, you can customise the settings in HeadTrack. For example, change the smoothing, sensitivity, or create a custom curve.
