Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V)

HeadTrack works with the Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V) game. Here you can find how to set this up.

Set up HeadTrack

Input

First make sure the input is working. You can use any of the available inputs. If you can see a working preview, continue with the next step.

Mouse output

  1. Open HeadTrack.
  2. Set game output to Mouse.

When using the center option in HeadTrack you may also need to move your physical mouse to the center.

Set up Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V)

Now that HeadTrack is configured properly, see below how to configure your game.

  1. Open Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V)
  2. Head tracking works best inside vehicles. We recommend changing the following game settings under Camera:

    • Allow Independent Camera Modes: On
    • First Person Vehicle Auto-Center: Off
    • First Person On Foot Field of View: max value

Unfortunately, head tracking is still not perfect in GTA V. This is due to the very low FOV inside vehicles, which cannot be increased. This causes the view to appear very zoomed in which gives a poor experience. We are looking into ways to improve this.

  3. Head tracking should now work in Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V). If not, please let us know.

Tweak HeadTrack settings

To improve head tracking, you can customise the settings in HeadTrack. For example, change the smoothing, sensitivity, or create a custom curve.

HeadTrack is not affiliated with Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V).
