X-Plane 11

HeadTrack works with the X-Plane 11 game. Here you can find how to set this up.

Set up HeadTrack

Input

First make sure the input is working. You can use any of the available inputs. If you can see a working preview, continue with the next step.

FreeTrack game output

You can use the FreeTrack output with X-Plane 11.

  1. Open HeadTrack.
  2. Set output to FreeTrack.

X-Plane game output

The X-Plane output option within HeadTrack can also be used.

  1. Open HeadTrack.
  2. Set game output to X-Plane.
  3. Press the HeadTrackXPlane.xpl button.
  4. Copy the HeadTrackXPlane.xpl file to /Resources/plugins folder of your X-Plane installation.

Set up X-Plane 11

Now that HeadTrack is configured properly, see below how to configure your game.

  1. Open X-Plane 11
  2. Go to settings, "Graphics", and enable "Enable TrackIR & TrackHat view tracking in 3-D cockpit".
  3. Head tracking should now work in X-Plane 11. If not, please let us know.

Tweak HeadTrack settings

To improve head tracking, you can customise the settings in HeadTrack. For example, change the smoothing, sensitivity, or create a custom curve.
